Cinelerra hands down is the most powerful video editor for Linux. I like it's features that not just give you some simple things, but enough for a professional video editing.
Not the smoothest movement, but this was my first try of panning and zooming around a large (2000x2000 pixel) image in Cinelerra. The video looks a heck of a lot better on a DVD.
