As any understanding of a religion includes an understanding of its Founder, we present a brief chronology of Scientology Founder, L. Ron Hubbard.
That he does not meet prevailing misconceptions of an aloof and contemplative figure is intrinsic to his character.
For here was a man who forever maintained that to know life one must live life...

This is from the Mt. Fuji jazz fest - August, 1986... Also with Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter, and Tony Williams. Sorry it cuts off at 10 minutes, but that's all YouTube will allow. Also, this came off a VHS tape with some tracking problems but is still pretty watchable. You can see part 2 at http://www.youtube.c om/watch?v=qtLe2sne0 fI

This is a video of 1986 when David Miscavige announced that L Ron Hubbard had "killed himself". They seem.... pleased.
Edit - As it turns out, the coroners report showed that Mr. Hubbard had died of a stroke with Vistaril in his system - a prescription medication, something which scientologists are vehemently against.

Freddie Hubbard w/ McCoy Tyner, Ron Carter, Elvin Jones performing Hubbard's blues tune 'Birdlike'. This was recorded off a live radio broadcast. This part features as fine a piano solo as you are likely to hear by Tyner and then a blistering solo from Hubbard. Audio only but I hope you agree it is worth a listen. To my knowledge it has not been released in any format.
