Short clip on Jamerson`s influence in the 60s bass playing. He was the most influencial electric bassist before Pastorius, allthough we didn´t know who was playing.Records didn´t tell the line up of bands.

This is a simple little tune I wrote for the GREAT James Jamerson. Originaly it had a medium motown-ish groove, But I'm trying it in this 2/3 latin feel. I'm thinking of arranging it for the Bobby Sanabria Quartet. It's goes in and out of clave.... it's just a rough arangement. I'm using My Yamaha TRB 5PII. Let me know what you think.
Peace... Alex Hernandez

I attempted (very feebly) to re-create how Jamerson recorded thie tune in the studio. The only major difference is that I am 100% sober. However, its incredibly difficult to play like this. I could only do one take because my back and shoulders start to go into spasm. Jamerson was a true master. A true, true master!
