and as part of the move it's relocating the 1,800 pound petrified oak
tree that has been inside the bar for 60 years. The bar is moving two
doors down to the old Jack's Shoes location on State Street.

As Wisconsin residents watch poll numbers in the recall race for
governor, an unofficial poll being taken on two sides of Madison is a
wash.

Thousands are set to cross the finish line at this year's Madison
Marathon, but high temperatures could slow down, or even shut down, the
race, come Sunday.

Mayor Paul Soglin condemned the shooting as part of a recent outbreak
of gun violence happening across the city. Soglin said he would ask
Madison's Common Council for an additional $50,000 to fund more weekend
police patrols, plus endorse efforts to limit loitering and ban
panhandling downtown and near licensed liquor establishments.

Just two weeks before the recall election volunteers are doing
everything they can to turn out every vote they can. With a huge
percentage of the state already decided on who they'll vote for,
campaigns are now concentrated on making sure they turn out their base
and they say their efforts go beyond what they did in 2010.
