During Golden Week 2007 we visited Kyoto. During our stay we went to one of the famous traditional "furoshiki" or cloth wrapping stores. The quality and colour of the material was amazing. We even got to see the furoshiki that Mick Jagger bought last year!
The relatives are coming for Obon Yasumi, or the (very hot) Summer Holiday in Japan that everyone gets this time of the year for a few days. We need to air out the bedding (futon) for them to sleep on. It is tradition. Here is how it's done.
I went for a massage today at one of the studios run by the company where Mayu is learning massage therapy. There I show you some interesting toilet technology
A friend asked me to buy her obento bako here in Japan. I sent them with beautiful ohashi (chopsticks). She has trouble using them well and I promised to make a video. This is the first in a two part series. The second one is called "How to CHEAT Using Chopsticks."
A friend asked me to buy her obento bako here in Japan. I sent them with beautiful ohashi (chopsticks). She has trouble using them well and I promised to make a video. I did. Then I made this video to show how to cheat using chopsticks. This is the second in a two part series.
Just another 18 minute video showing mundane things like driving, helicopters, feats of magic, Japanese homes, singing ducks, beta titanium alloy sheets, translation editing from Japanese to English to English, villages, mountains, landslides, Japanese food and ordinary things like that.
In this last episode, Stefnee takes Cam to her Garden of Eden and shows her all of the fruits (and vegetables) of her labour.
Stefnee & Cam relax on the hamock for a final farewell to everyone who took the time to share these unforgettable adventures with us!
We love you!
We took you on an adventure during the planting of the rice seedlings back during Golden Week in May. Now it is time for the harvest of this golden staple of Japan.
Follow us as we meander around the rice paddies ("tambo") enjoying the morning breeze, and smelling the fragrant aroma of freshly cut rice.
On Sunday, April 8th, Mayu and I went to Asuwa Riverside to see the sakura (cherry blossoms). Every year we go here at this time as the entir riverbank is lined with sakura. It is a beautiful place to stroll. It is also the first year we have ever gone without Tug, our dog, who died last July 29th.
