This was improvised off the top of my head and it's a bit loose but I posted it anyway. You get to watch straight down the neck as I pick away. - Fret Killer
Here's my version of one of the Beatles classic songs. I stayed for two months in Bodo and Stavanger, Norway and this tune got me in a lot of doors. When the lovely ladies requested Norwegian Wood they said they didn't mean this song. Do you know what kind of cars they drive in Norway? Fjords! Enjoy. - Fret Killer
Everyone has their favorite version of this Dylan classic. I've based my clip on Bob's solo performance at the 1963 Newport Folk Festival. I, like Bob, omit the third verse and, unlike Bob, I botched a word in the last verse which should be "crazy sorrow" instead of "constant sorrow". Dang! That changes the whole meaning of the song. Enjoy. - Fret Killer
I dust off these holiday songs once a year to help celebrate the season. I decided to play "Let It Snow" with a "bossa nova-ish" beat. It's a short and concise version without solos. The sweater is an heirloom Norwegian hand-knit. No, I'm not Norwegian. I just lived there for a few months in Bodo and Stavanger. Friendly people and a beautiful country. - Fret Killer
An requited love song about a down and out immigrant who is befriended by a Creole girl he meets en route to Lake Pontchartrain. A folk musicologist told me this song has been around since the early 1900's. The version I play was inspired by Paul Brady's (Ireland) recording. - Fret Killer
This is a Jimmy Webb song that Glen Campbell had a huge hit with. It charted #4 in 1969. The powerful lyrics capture a soldier's thoughts while he's in the heat of battle, in fear of his life, and thinking back to a better time and place. A superbly written pop song that deserves a listen. Enjoy - Fret Killer
It's not a good idea and probably illegal to scream "fire" in a crowded public space but it's perfectly acceptable to sing it. I'm playing a guitar that Springsteen fans will recognize and I've fittingly dubbed as "The Bruce-inator". "The Boss" has a boatload of songs that blow this one out of the water but I just couldn't help myself. Enjoy. - Fret Killer
Rather than post another version of FOTD in the original key and groove, I worked up this version yesterday, slept on it, and voila! Shame on me for not wearing tie-dye. Enjoy. - Fret Killer
